Nadia Comaneci - (born on 12th November, 1961 Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej or now Onesti, Romania), Romanian gymnast. First gymnast in history to earn a 10. a competition at the Olympics. Bela Karrolyi, a Romanian gymnastics instructor who was later Comaneci's coach, first discovered Comaneci at the age of six. Comaneci participated for the first time in the 1969 national junior championships, placing 13th. The following year she became champion. Her first competition in the international arena was in 1972, a pre-Olympic junior meet for the communist-bloc countries she took home three gold medals. Then in 1973 and 1974 she was overall junior champion. At her first competitive event at the senior level, Lyudmila Turkishcheva, a Russian athlete, won five gold medals, as well as one silver. The year was 1976 when she took home the American Cup at the New York City Olympic Games and was the first female in history to dismount the parallel bars with a double backward salto. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. She began her career in the entertainment industry during her teenage years in which she was a part of a figure skating duo with her sibling Nina Wayne for the travelling entertainment program Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne was born on September 6 1942 in Chicago Illinois US. Carol began her career in the world of entertainment in her teens. Her career began by joining her sister Nina Wayne to perform in Ice Capades, a traveling performance. It featured dramatic ice-skating shows.
